Ketamine "Blooming"

One of the reasons I love this artistic expression is their authors' familiarity with both botany and human neuroanatomy, highlighting bright, delicate structures reminiscent of the remodeling by which ketamine exerts one of it's most fundamental and groundbreaking mechanisms--"neuroplasticitiy" .  To some effect, the brain is constantly being remodeled and cabable of developing and connecting new thoughts and ideas.  Both psychotherapy and antidepressants improve neuroplasticity through similar chemicals, but these changes pale in comparison to what's possible with ketamine. Among some overlapping mechanisms, the window of "neuroplasticity" created over the approximatetly 1-2 weeks allows your brain the "openness" to "try on new ideas" , make critical connections between differnt parts of your brain, and develop new behavior patterns you might have not either discovered.

Without getting too far into the nitty gritty details (see references below if interested), neurons (brain cells) can look like long spines with budding branches (check out the paper visualizing the effect on ketamine on thickening and widening of neural dendrites, not unlike, visually and at least symbolically forming the dense, branched out, thick and interconnected neural structures or "brain blossoms."  Holistically, when the power of high quality psychotherapy, preparation, faithful and deliberate setting the stage, dosing session performed with deep trust, and intererospective guidance to make meaning and guidance to make the most of the neuroplastic window is woven together in a way that holds personal and/or spiritual ritual, many have determined it be one of the most profound experiences of ones life.  Myself and others have described a therapeutic psychedelic experience as experiencing 5 years of regular therapy jammed into 1-2 hours.   While results can certainly vary between individuals and within the same individual from dosing to dosing can lead to profound changes in depression, treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, addictions (believe it or not!) and other conditions that might take a great deal longer to resolve (if ever). Whether you struggle with a severe, unremitting clinical condition or even if you're experiencing something less intense like feeling "burn out" or psychologically "stuck" , my clinical experience and training in IPI (Integrative Psychiatric Instititute's  Psychychedelic Psychehotherapy Fellowship as all as the Medical KEtamine Providers certification has convincned me that ketamine, and other psychedelics are (none of which are currently legal in the state of Arizona) are capable of psychological growth and transformation beyond anything I've witnenessed in my career.

. While all psychedelic experiences can vary even among the same person, there is no "guarantee" that you will you be guaranteed a specific a trip, traditional wisdom is that the “the universe give you exactly what you need.” The notion that ketamine could be use to “jump-start” the therapy process by initiating the start of ketamine, in concert with psychotherapy for integration, healing and recovery.  Users of ketamine often report that a one session of ketamine can feel like 5 years of therapy!  The larger than life, intense, spiritual, euphoric sense of  joy and purpose does not come spontaneously, but I’ve yet to find a person who has not found the experience  transcendental.
